Psychotherapy with Children who are Blind

Children with many different disorders are seen by therapists in Child Mental Health settings but those with sensory disabilities present rarely. Many child psychiatrists and psychologists are inexperienced in treatment of such children. We describe two children who are registered blind, and discuss the psychodynamic issues raised in treatment, the impact of their disability on their presentation and the progress in therapy
