On the Engagement of Psychotic Adolescents and their FamiliesPathfinder Mental Health (NHS) Trust, London, UK
St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, UK This article describes strategies to promote the engagement of adolescents and their families during and after the adolescent's psychotic episode. These strategies were developed following a retrospective study of the clinical records of nine consecutive cases. Key issues that lead to failure are identified and include pressure to institutionalize and poor management of secrets.
