Pediatric Psychiatry at Lucile Salter Packard Childrens Hospital at StanfordStanford University, USA
Stanford University, USA This article describes the historical evolution of the Comprehensive Pediatric Care Unit (CPCU), a pediatric psychiatry inpatient service at Lucile Salter Packard Childrens Hospital at Stanford. The CPCU developed initially as an inpatient treatment program for children with a variety of somatoform disorders, but has evolved to become the interconnecting link for pediatric consultation and a flexible resource for intensive treatment needs of a wide range of children and adolescents with combined medical and psychiatric problems.
